STUDENT SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR (POSITION FILLED)
COMMIT MINISTRIES has an immediate opening for a full-time coordinator to work in our southern California office. The position requires a dedicated love of the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ and a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office as well as calling upon churches by both the telephone and in person. The right candidate will be required to travel routinely and occasionally within North America and to the countries of Kenya, Uganda, and Mainland China. Office and computer skills are necessary and an ability to work with Office 2007 and its parameter fields. A good personality and ability to work with church groups and individuals is required. The candidate would need to relocate to the greater Yucaipa California area and have his or her own transportation. This is a volunteer position so any necessary personal and ministry support would have to be raised before work could commence. MINISTRY ACCOUNTANT (POSITION FILLED)
COMMIT Ministries has an immediate opening for a full or part-time ministry accountant. The position requires a deep love for a ministry working among unreached people groups worldwide and a minimum of 20 hours per week. We require some expertise and full competence in the area of "keeping the books" for a growing Christian ministry. A love for the Lord Jesus, a minimum of 20 hours per week given to the cause, and ability to use our software and common QuickBooks Non-Profit familiarity is a must. Relocation to southern California is preferred but possibly not necessary if coordination can be easily achieved. This is a volunteer position so any necessary personal and ministry support would have to be raised before work could commence. SHORT TERM MINISTRY COORDINATOR
COMMIT Ministries has an immediate opening for a full time coordinator to work in our southern California office. The position requires a dedicated heart to serve the Lord Jesus and at minimum, 40 hours a week. An appropriate candidate will have a background in short-term mission trip leadership experience. In addition, some training and certification is required. A ministry coordinator should have experience in leading short-term mission trips in order to be familiar with the various needs of dealing with flights, transportation, lodging, and other related trip logistics. Some "meeting of the public" is involved but mostly a coordinator must have people skills in dealing with the requirements facing each team member. A candidate will also place upcoming trips on the calendar, do the appropriate advertising, and work with churches, COMMIT staff, and other individuals in promoting the upcoming trips and projects. This is a volunteer position loaded with an amazing amount of work and joy. An application is required as well as approval by our board. REGIONAL OR STATE MINISTRY REPRESENTATIVE
COMMIT Ministries has an immediate opening for a full time ministry representative in most all North American states, regions, and provinces. It is not necessary to move; work where you live! If you are a "self-starter" and have been looking for an opportunity to work with a five-star, growing mission agency in order to serve the Lord Jesus in a truly meaningful way, this position is for you! A candidate should have good people skills for meeting the public and abilities to call upon churches in their areas. A candidate will requie some training in order to gather the necessary skills to work directly with church leadership, individuals, and mission teams in order to move people from stagnicity to activity in taking the Good News wherever it needs to be proclaimed. A candidate will work closely with the main office in southern California and be required to attend regular training meetings. A good amount of resources and proven specialized support tools are available for use. This is a volunteer position loaded with an amazing amount of work and joy! TEACH ENGLISH TO SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES PROJECT COORDINATOR
This is a special position being created for an extraordinary person who will work not only with our short-term ministry coordinator but also with private schools in the US and Canada in order to promote opportunities for those who desire to serve our Lord Jesus by providing their "native English" speaking capabilities in a teaching capacity among schools in Mainland China and Kenya who have invited us to place candidates for short or long-term commitment. A degree in TESOL, TEFOL, or ESL is strongly encouraged but a willing heart to serve and see this need met in a fuller capacity is the basic requirement. Relocation to southern California is preferable, but a self-starter candidate with an approved background in meeting the public and grounded in Christian ministry could work from his or her home. This is a volunteer position loaded with an amazing amount of work and a tremendous amount of joy! A written application is available and required as well as passing an oral examination by our board of directors. Any personal and ministry support would have to be raised before work could commence.
RELOCATE AND WORK IN KENYA WITH OUR ESTABLISHED MINISTRY TEAM
We are not asking for a person(s) needing to sell everything, buy a pith helmet, and move to the jungles of Africa...but, pretty close! If you love adventure, wish to serve Jesus in a meaningful capacity using your God-given skills, and can work with a loving secure team in country, this is for you! Don't even think of reading further unless God is specifically calling you to move your entire life to Kenya...but if He is, read on. We need teachers, farmers, ranchers, medical personnel, construction people, pastoral trainers, fish hatchery folk (no kidding!), and countless others who'd just like to give of their lives in order that many would simply be able to live. Relocation to Kenya and some training is required. Participation on a COMMIT Ministries short-term mission team to Kenya is also required. This is a volunteer position loaded with so much joy, it's impossible to count it all! A written application is available upon request and required too. You must meet with and have the approval of our board of directors as well. One hundred percent of any personal and ministry support would need to be raised before deployment.
TEACH ENGLISH IN CHINA...FULL TIME!
No hype; just a lot of joy! I've known a number of teachers over the years that truly wish they could find fulfillment in what God is calling them to do. Well, how about going where you'd really be appreciated, adored, and loved on? Yes, I am speaking of China and everyone who goes and for whatever reason, come back home, are pining to go again! We can place qualified teachers (BA, BS, MS, MA, PHD) for long term service with a minimum one-year (renewable) commitment. You would need to raise some of your support but the schools we work with pay a small stipend. You won't get rich but I know you will be blessed! Relocation to China is required as well as participation on a COMMIT Ministries short-term China mission trip. You need to meet our board and pass muster with them as well. A written application is also required.
